Excellence with no compromise. Aiming high. The bicycles of the HoC category (Hors Categorie) have been conceived to enhance the riders’ performances. The reactive geometries have their main features in lightness and rigidity: an unbeatable mix. There are two models of this family:
928 Carbon SL and FG Lite, in Alu Carbon and the classic version made entirely from aluminium.
The 928 Carbon SL is the pinnacle with regards to carbon and metallic alloys: the monocoque frame, weighing only 860 grams in a medium size, is characterized by a unique and essential design, “tough” in the most stressed area and light where needed. The high modulus fibres are implemented by nanotechnology and by the unidirectional Carbon Woven. Nanotechnology represents a step forward in increasing reliability and mechanical resistance: the special addictives, mixed with the resins, used to bind the fibres, allow us to obtain a more compact structure, without increasing the weight of the frame and at the same time enhancing agility and reactivity. The frame is even more rigid, light and reactive to stresses. Besides, the new rear dropouts, made from carbon, are stronger, yet lighter.
The FG, named after the champion Felice Gimondi, is in Hyperalloy aluminium, the best among the metallic alloys. The tubing is triple butted, ultrathin and ultralight, featuring the exclusive Reparto Corse design.
Diameters are classic and shapes traditional and light. The bottom bracket area is strengthened by means of the structural foam injection: a reliable system patented by Bianchi. The headset, fully integrated, is lighter than ever. Hors Category: few grams to achieve excellence.
